SPIRITS OF THE LAND
In the beautiful gardens of Center Street, open a portal to the more than human world, connecting with plants, animals, land, and the spirits of place through psychic practice and creative expression.
Guided by interdisciplinary artist and spirit medium Zaneta, participants will open their psychic senses and learn how tune into the energies of non-human beings and spirits of place. We’ll also explore expressing those energies and connections through writing, art, and sound, with the intention of deepening our connections to the land and our non-human kin.

  • No psychic or artistic experience is necessary, simply an open heart and willingness to practice.
  • This is a 5 hour, hands-on experiential workshop that is held outdoors and indoors.
  • Please bring your journal for drawing or painting, your favorites art supplies such as watercolors, colored pencils, markers etc, a lunch, spill-proof water bottle, and wear comfy clothes that you can move in and will shade you outdoors.

This experience offers a 12pm-1pm lunch break. Please bring a light lunch with you.
Combo tickets are available for Zaneta’s workshop TURN UP THE SOUL on Saturday, July 26th.

About the Practitioner

Zaneta

Zaneta (they.them) is a queer, multi-Filipinx interdisciplinary artist and spirit medium based in the Hudson Valley, NY. Drawing upon the work of their lola sa tuhód (great-grandmother) as a village hilot healer in the Philippines, Zaneta’s work reimagines our relationship with the more than human world through the relationality and reciprocity of sound and spirit mediumship as sacred forms of spiritual and ecological care. They host the Art Witch podcast and give spiritual readings for art and career, empowering creatives to realign with their soul’s work. They currently serve as the Environmental Artist in Residence at Marydell Faith and Life Center and are the recipient of the Brooklyn Arts Council Grant and the Strange Residency. You can learn more about their work at @soundartmagic on Instagram or visit their website.
