African Diaspora Dance for all Bodies – NEW DATE: November 3rd
Driven by a specially curated playlist of African rhythms and live drums. A spirited and fun filled Cardio-dance workshop that will get your heart rate up, while increasing flexibility and strength.
- A special bonus mindfulness tool: The Universal Hug will be utilized to close the workshop.

We will dance, drum, sing and experience freedom. So, bring your cool vibez, feminine earth energy, dance belts, bells, shakers, blankets, facepaint and a friend or two!
ABOUT SAUDA JACKSON
TedX speaker/performer, facilitator & creator of The Universal Hug with Sauda. Trauma-informed presenter with a solid foundation in Visual Art, African Dance/Drum, & Group/Workshop Facilitation. Leads community dance workshops, incorporating mindfulness & radical self-care. Arts Ambassador with Atlantic Center for the Arts. Member of Alternate ROOTS. Led virtual Juneteenth workshop for Sunshine Health with over 300 participants all over the country. 5 years with the Florida Department of Health in Seminole County, teaching community dance classes helping to improve health outcomes.
In her work with small groups, she has used art to break down barriers to communication and to provide tools for building self-esteem. She leads arts, dance and empowerment groups in her local community.
Ms. Jackson has developed an empowering ritual for all to use, The Universal Hug. Through the Universal Hug, participants are given an opportunity to slow down, breathe, ground, tap into their own power, focus on gratitude, release tension, to remember their heart’s desires, to remember to be compassionate with themselves and to emotionally reset. All are encouraged to use this tool often and to share it widely.
