Enter Darkness, Return to Light! A Winter Solstice Ceremony
🕯️ Welcoming all men, women, teens, and willing youth. 🕯️
Join Barbara Gail — The Drum, The Song, The Dance — for an intentional crossing over the Winter Solstice threshold.
Memorable and meaningful, we’ll honor the season creatively, in an interactive ceremony and celebration, with candlelight, rhythm, movement, and song.
Marking the end of an annual cycle and the birth of another, Winter Solstice is the longest night. The Earth is bathed in more darkness than she is in Light. By nature this welcomes stillness and pause for reflection, bestowing time for re-envisioning.
Our evening of SongChant, Rhythm-making, and Circle Dance, will be a ritual journey that guides you through the completion of one cycle, and into the beginning of the next, when the light will grow again with the gradual lengthening of days.
Similar to planting seeds where they dream underground, together we’ll descend into and embrace the darkness. In song we’ll conjure our personal and collective trust to surrender to whatever lies ahead on our path.
With this much-needed refresh, we’re delivered into the next cycle with renewed and luminous inspiration, and emerge bringing forth the glowing, growing light, joining hearts and hands in a Circle and Celebration of Life!
This evening’s creative expression of Winter Solstice is a transformational experience that shifts our perception out of the mundane, and into the dream.
Let’s bless and release the past, weeding out the old and that which no longer serves.
Let’s gift ourselves the present, preparing fresh ground for a garden of new intentions.
Let’s plant new seeds, envisioning a future that “Trusts in the light of love, the pulse of the universe!” (Ina).
Our ritual may include and is not limited to:
❧ Silent and Guided InnerVision DrumJourney
❧ SongChant
❧ Circle Dance
❧ Facilitated Rhythm-making
*** There’s no need for any previous experience or confidence in music, singing, drumming, or dancing! An email will be sent to all registrants with what to know and what to bring.
“It was wonderful in so many ways… You were inspirational, ethereal and dramatic — with a sense of rhythm, pace, texture, timing, inflection, enunciation, word-coloring and interpretation. You were meditative, thoughtful and thought provoking. Competent, considerate and compassionate in your awareness of others. You conveyed a sense of tranquility to your listeners and observers. Your personal pulse was on everything. It was a captivating, memorable program and I was happy to be a part of it. Thank you!” ~ Sandra, Winter Solstice 2015 participant
